Ippon (One Point) is awarded for:

1. Chudan or Jodan Tsuki
2. Uchi

Explanation

1. Any punch (tsuki) delivered to any of seven scoring areas excluding the back, back of the head or neck.
2. Any strike (uchi) delivered to any of the seven scoring areas
